iSensRis, Inc. specializes in the research and development of light sources, sensors, optical systems and gas analyzers which use mid-infrared wavelength light. The mid IR region, which ranges from 3um to 16um, is used in a wide variety of applications including utilization in military, medicine, industry, environment and safety.

Dr. Hyun-duk Yang
Dr. Yang has been deeply involved in the project to develop quantum cascading lasers (QCL) and its applications for ppb grade gas sensors, which was conducted at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. During the project, he has successfully produced a QCL epitaxial structure capable of emitting wavelength of 7.7 ㎛ to 10.5 ㎛ for the first time in Korea. He was also able to succeed in fabricating high power QCL which can achieve 400 ㎽ output in room temperature. Additionally, he developed external cavity QCL and a variable wavelength QCL with broadband emission by using a bound to continuum structure. In 2018, he finally succeeded in continuous wave emission of QCL at room temperature, which is a first in Korea.
In October of 2018, Dr. Yang founded iSensIRs, Inc. to produce IR QCL light sources and sensors and develop applications such as gas sensors.
